New Q&As with Eat Your World: Webflakes, University of Wisconsin

Laura Siciliano-Rosen October 16, 2013

We like a good Q&A, and we enjoy being on either side of one—asking the questions or providing the answers. This month, between some regional travel, lots of Rhode Island writing, weighing in on smart travel for Budget Travel, and—oh, yeah!—being the new parents of an adventurous six-month-old, we were fortunate to participate individually in two new ones.

Our friends at Webflakes.com interviewed me, and I was happy to oblige—and happy to learn about their new site, which aggregates lifestyle content from bloggers around the world and translates it into English via a community of volunteers. Content discovery plus translation means you can learn about, say, why Japanese jeans are cool (from a Paris-based blogger), the pros and cons of traveling in Assisi (from an Italian perspective), or—more up our alley—a secret yakitori spot in Tokyo (translated from Japanese). We’ll be checking into the food section regularly to look for new local perspectives from international blogs we couldn’t otherwise read. Language barriers, be gone! (Bonus: Webflakes donates $1 for every 500 words translated to a global charity.)

Scott was honored to be approached for an interview by his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This Q&A got us thinking it was high time we revisited Madison for some new EYW coverage. Brats, beers, and cheese curds await!
