BIKERent a bike from Spokes Bicycles (CAD$21.43/$28.57 for a half/full day), then pedal the the six-mile seawall around leafy Stanley Park (pictured above). You can ride all the way around False Creek to Granville Island and its yummy market and microbreweries—that’s right, we’re suggesting you reward your exercise with more food and beer! Take the Burrard Bridge to return to downtown.
WALKGet thee to the UBC Museum of Anthropology—check it and its intriguing totem poles out ($15.68 for adults), then hightail it down the cliffs to gorgeous, wild Wreck Beach (shown above), accessible via 390 steps behind the museum (yes, you will have to climb them back up later). It’s a stunning place to walk with a wilderness vibe that’s miles away from the city—in the summertime, think eagles and kingfishers, awesome skimboarding, and, um, lots of naked people (it’s also a famous nude beach). To get there on public transport from downtown, you can take the southbound No. 4 bus on Howe St. to the University of British Columbia (approximately 40 minutes), then transfer to the C20 shuttle toward the museum.
