Remember the haggis? Submitted by: briannannIt was a magical day. In the Highlands, on our Honeymoon and circumventing Loch Ness by car. The journey started with a trip down the rugged and less traveled "B" road to Fort Augustus. Then back up the "A" road and back to Cawdor where our honeymoon cottage sat in a field with a distant view of the Moray Firth. But first a stop in the Cawdor Pub. A place I quickly deemed one of the best places on Earth. There we both decided it was time. So, after a few drinks and by the warm glow of the fireplace "the bar wench" served up a plate of haggis and we dove in. Our tongues melted from the warm, meaty, and earthy textures one can only find in Scotland. We simply couldn't believe all the flavors and emotions we were experiencing in a dish that makes most squeamish on its mere mention. Oh, how special it truly was. To this day, when we speak of our time in Scotland, we'll both look into each other’s eyes and say, "Remember the haggis"?
