Laphing and momos

Submitted by lsr

37-65 74th St. Jackson Heights, NY

Laphing (on right)--a common Tibetan dish found in Jackson Heights, where a large Himalayan community resides--is mung-bean-jelly noodles heaped w/chiles, chili oil, soy sauce, scallions & mouth-tingling Sichuan peppercorns. It's an interesting, delightful dish--spicy, cold & slippery. Another go-to appetizer here is the momos, or dumplings (on left).
