Not really my cup of tea, but love the historical significance of it, Empress dowager Cu Xi's favourite and a dish banned during the cultural revolution in China. Very well explained in Nicole Mones' book The Last Chinese chef: "the Empress Dowager always ordered xiao wo tou, crude little broom cakes made with chestnut flour, osmanthus, and dates."
